Lara co-founded Linux Magazine in 1999 and her introduction to high tech came from representing the magazine at 25 Linux trade shows over three years. Supercomputing quickly became her favorite show, and she launched Xand Marketing in 2005 to capitalize on the many relationships she built in HPC and the Open Source community. Lara also owns a graphic design firm that she founded in 1992 and is a partner in a Dutch-based BV focused on helping European companies go to market in the US, and vice versa. She has extensive experience on non-profit boards, serving on the NYC Chapter board of the National Association of Women Business Owners for a decade (including two years as chapter President) and the New York Chapter board of the Graphic Artists Guild for seven years (including four as chapter President). Lara has been on the National board of the Guild since 1998 and is currently National Vice President. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communications, Technology, and Management from New York University.
Kim has worked in HPC and technology since 1999 with SGI, Cray, ADIC, LSI/NetApp, and Brocade. In these roles Kim has traveled all over the world, working with different types of customers and in multiple technologies, such as compute, storage, networking, infrastructure, software, and services. This worldwide exposure has given her the experience to market US products outside of the country and to help foreign companies launch and market their products in the US.
